Barry Popik's etymology blog has a piece on 'If pro is the opposite of con' jokes:
  • ...then Congress is the opposite of progress
  • ...then the Constitution is the opposite of prostitution.

    • conduct is the opposite of product
    • convince is the opposite of province
    • contestant is the opposite of protestant
    • concession is the opposite of procession

      Thank you, Smylers! I like the 'professor' and 'protestant' ones especially--though the latter makes one realize the oddness of English word stress...
